Proceedings

Dear colleagues,

We invite you to submit to a collection of selected papers "The Future of Dialects" from Methods XV. We are hoping to publish the volume in the open access series Language Variation of Language Science Press (LSP) and to have as editors Marie-Hélène Côté, Remco Knooihuizen and John Nerbonne. We hope to publish the collection in 2015, probably late in the year.

Papers must be submitted using one of the templates provided by LSP (Word, LaTeX, and perhaps Office Libre) and may be submitted in two categories -- research articles and research notes. Articles may be up to 16 pp. long (about 5000 wd., but shorter in case graphics are used), all included, i.e. literature references, graphs, tables, and appendices, and research notes 4 pp. (1250 wd.) We hope that the notes category provides an interesting option for poster presenters, but presenters are free to choose the category that they wish. (So poster prestenters may submit long papers and oral presenters may choose to submit a note.)

Papers must conform to the Leipzig Style Rules. We emphasize the importance of conforming to the style by repeating that the use of LSP templates is required. All of the papers will be converted to LaTeX for final typesetting, and failure to use the templates will make the conversion too expensive. The templates, style sheet and instructions for submission are available here.

We should further emphasize that papers will be refereed by at least two peers, and that we are committed to producing a high-quality collection. Submission to the volume constitutes a promise to referee as well.

Finally, we note that we prefer papers that link their content to the theme of the conference "The Future of Dialects".

We look forward to receiving your submissions by Dec. 1!

Regards,

John
